Camp Recipes! is the clear winner in this category. What makes this the essential app? For starters, there are over 700 recipes that campers have grown to love over the years. It is easy to find recipes through the app’s categories. For only $0.99, there isn’t much to not like. This is the most comprehensive camping recipe app out there.

The Classic Camping Cookbook & Meal Planner is a great alternative to the essential app. It is free, which makes this app a compelling choice. The app is an ad of sorts for Coleman camping gear. Still, it's one of the more beautiful camping cookbook apps. The meal planning feature is also handy for when you are planning out your next camping trip. A great app worth your time and worth a spot on your iPhone.

101 Camping & Outdoor Recipes is another excellent app. There is less content in this app than in Camp Recipes! and the recipes included do not have that great categorization. Still, it can be a nice app to have as a complement the essential app.

Camping Recipes HD is great for those looking for an iPad/iPhone recipe app. There are a good amount of recipes and the iPad version doesn’t feel like an iPhone upscaled app. You can share recipes with Facebook, Twitter or through a simple email. A nice app especially for iPad users.

Camping and Outdoor Recipes is a nifty little recipe app. The interface is pretty well done. We do not like how even though this is a paid app there are a few ads scattered throughout the app. The big bug that caused the app to not work has been fixed and the app is now once again functional. The iPad version feels like an upscaled iPhone app. A nice app, but nothing too stellar.

Camping Recipes is one of four apps by the same name and by the same developer. We include this app on this guide to simply warn you not to purchase this app. We do not like how there are four apps with seemingly no differences. The content is okay, but nothing too great. This and the other “Camping Recipes” apps are ones to avoid. They are decent, but the developer’s ethics aren’t.
