Mike was born in Poland but moved to California at age 9. Mike has graduated from Chico State with a degree in journalism in spring '10 and lives in Cupertino (Apple headquarters) currently. He hopes to continue writing about games and technology and loves his iPad. He got it as a graduation gift along with an iPhone 4 but the iPad is Mike's real device of choice. Mike also owns an iMac (that has bootcamp and OS X), a Windows laptop, a Wii, and a Dreamcast. Mike also has a passion in film and enjoys training mixed martial arts. The third crime-based action game modeled after the GTA series is set to hit the App Store in the near future. It will be set in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro. Expect the same action-packed gameplay from a third person perspective that the series is known for.
If you love action-packed shooters with a sci-fi theme, you will have to check out Shadowgun when it hits the App Store on September 28. The game offers third person gameplay and console-quality visuals.
A new castle defense title with online multiplayer has hit the App Store. The name of this game is Ancient War II and it pits you in the role of a god.

Check out Sega's latest castle defense game which is based on Japanese legend and history. It is called Samurai Bloodshow and has been released on the App Store as a universal app. The game offers a hand-drawn style of visuals as if an old feudal Japanese scroll was brought to life.
A new vertical scrolling game called Up And Up! has hit the App Store The game offers physics-based vertical climbing where players have to help a monster make his way to safety. He will be slingshot upwards through 30 levels of mayhem.
Check out turn-based strategy game called Great Little War Game. The game has recently been updated to version 1.5. Along with the update a new campaign was added, in addition to five different skirmish maps.
A new puzzle game called, Fruity Jelly is hitting the App Store on September 8. Gameplay is said to be based on collecting fruit and controlling a blue jelly.
If you enjoy physics games, puzzlers, or tower defense titles check out Cubes vs. Spheres. The universal app just received a minor update and offers innovative gameplay, a great art style with colorful visuals, and an intensive combo system. Your goal is to stop incoming waves of cubes from reaching your base by flinging spheres at them.
Check out action puzzler Spacelings. The game has just been updated to version 1.2. Spacelings' gameplay revolves around you rescuing creatures in outer space by using tractor beams.
Check out EA's Madden NFL 12 for iPhone and iPad. The game has recently hit the App Store and offers all 32 NFL teams to choose from with over 2,500 real NFL players. Even the stadiums are modeled after their real life counterparts.
Gameloft is hard at work with the movie tie-in game, The Adventures of Tintin. The game has been described as stealth-based -- with players moving from cover to cover.
Check out the new and unique puzzle game, called Sprinkle. It has been released as a universal app and its gameplay consists of putting out fires with a water cannon.
Three great RPGs are now on sale courtesy of Crescent Moon Games. They include, Rimelands: Hammer of Thor, Ravensword: The fallen King, and Aralon: Sword and Shadow HD.

OfficeTime - Time & Expense Tracking has hit the App Store as a universal app. It allows you to track your time, and set up a schedule. It is perfect for business users, attorneys, and anyone else who needs to track their time for billing or productivity purposes.
Splashtop Remote Desktop has been updated to version 1.5.5.1. The app was originally an iPad exclusive, but a version for the iPhone is also now available. The latest update mainly deals with Internet discovery enhancements and an updated user interface.
Expect Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation to hit the App Store this fall and compete with Battlefield 3. Gameloft has released a trailer for the game along with some additional information.
